Good news! We’ve just had a visit from the engineer appointed by Suffolk Highways to approve our suggested locations for the new speed sign. They have all now been approved, and as soon as the Council receives formal notification we will be able to order our sign. The funding for this was included in last year’s budget so we can pay for it immediately.
The picture shows the type of sign we have in mind but the specific design and model we buy will depend on the advice we receive from Highways.
Suffolk Highways will be setting up the four posts around the village in the next 3-4 weeks, and the Speedwatch team will then take responsibility for setting up the sign, keeping the battery charged, and moving it (when necessary) between its four locations.
Special thanks to Paul Marshall – once again – for his time and assistance in doing the initial survey, obtaining permission from householders close to each location, and liaising with the engineer during his visit.
More news as we have it…
