As part of your Parish Council’s strategy for reducing speeding in Hitcham we are in the process of buying a Vehicle Activated Sign which will warn drivers when they are speeding, and can be moved around between posts at several different locations in the village.
We have now had a visit from the Suffolk County Highways engineer, Steve Penny, who has suggested eleven possible locations for the sign. We will probably only be able to use three or four (at least to begin with) as Highways need to erect the posts, and they will cost £150 each to install.
Your Parish Council would welcome feedback on the suggested locations (marked with a small + sign on each map). They will take your views into account when writing back to Suffolk Highways.
