A week ago the government issued new guidelines for Play Areas which have allowed them to open. Our own play area, behind the village hall, needs a little care and attention before it can open – a very large wasps’ nest has been removed from the bench, some suspicious looking burrows have been checked (probably made by voles!) and, finally, some new chippings are due to be delivered this weekend. If you would like to help with spreading them please email your name, email and phone number to parishcouncil@hitchamsuffolk.org.uk. We do already have some volunteers, but the more the better (as long as you can maintain social distancing!)

All being well, that means the play area can reopen this weekend.

However, please do be aware of the rules governing use of the play area – see the notice on this page. It’s important to follow them for your own safety, and that of the children. If they are not followed then we will have to close the play area again – which we have absolutely no wish to do…
